‘Nothing Gold Can Stay’

fallhpotowithpaintframedandwatermarkedNature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

  1. You got to love Robert Frost, who’s poetry I have always greatly admired. If one didn’t know his life ended some 50 years ago, you’d kind of wonder what came first your picture or his poem, for it’s as though his beautiful poem had been inspired by the majestic beauty of your picture. Thank you for this marvellous gift combination. JJ

    • That is actually from my last year’s Autumn photo shots. :) I have taken pictures of the current fall colors, but decided on using an older pic, for this effect. Thank you, mi lovely. xoxo

  3. I like this rendering – In the days of film, I got similar results using a technique called High Contrast Tonal variations – a very labor intensive process – this reminds me of the results. Nice!
